Independent Media Solidarity proudly presents the first preview of our new feature-length film, The Conspiracy Theorist: What Happened to James Tracy Could Happen to You. From the makers of We Need to Talk About Sandy Hook, this forthcoming documentary goes behind the scenes of the most important First Amendment legal battle of our time: Professor James Tracy’s firing for his controversial online speech.

In January 2016, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) wrongfully terminated Professor James Tracy, a fully tenured professor as a retaliatory measure for questioning details of the Sandy Hook shooting event. FAU breached their contract and conspired against a man for merely exercising his constitutionally protected right to free speech on his personal blog. Their acts effectively destroyed his academic career.

There is a disturbing trend taking place right now on YouTube. It involves children making videos about the Sandy Hook event. Tributes to the victims, singing songs, commentaries and personal reflections, and it’s still taking place over 4 years since the event. We’ve been collecting the videos, hoping to find the thread that connects them to a deliberate campaign. It does seem to be an organized effort. These videos are not intended to attract the attention of people questioning the Sandy Hook narrative. They are created for a wider audience and, ultimately for unknown purposes.
